We arrive home around 1pm and the trip was very smooth. When we arrived we heated up a casserole Mom's friend Shelley brought to us and it was delicious. Then we took care of getting prescriptions filled and organized for the coming week and also organized the mail that had accumulated the last few days. (for those who don't know me, I'm an organization freak who is always trying to throw away Mom's stuff)
It's about 4:30 now and Mom is still sitting up at the table and is doing fine. She does not have a headache at all and the incision in her stomach bothers her a little bit, but she wouldn't describe it as "pain". (The shunt that was put in during the second surgery drains fluid from her brain to her stomach so there was an incision both places.)
Things are back to how they were when she left St. Luke's last week. We may even go to the mall to walk tomorrow morning. Outpatient physical therapy should start back up early next week and things will continue to get back to normal.
So glad to hear she's doing well!
