Today the occupational and physical therapists decided to turn me loose.  They gave me some tests and are pleased with the progress I have made.  They feel that I have been doing things at home with Phil's help that are just as beneficial to my recovery.

The vision cut is frustrating but I have learned to compensate for it.  It is possible that this will improve over time.

My next big appointments are a check up with the nuerosurgeon and an MRI on Wednesday, October 3rd.  I'm hoping for good outcomes with both of those appointments.

I'll keep you posted as to the outcomes.

Today is therapy day, and we got very good news. Linda was cut back from twice-a-week sessions to once a week. The therapists (physical, occupational and speech) were all VERY pleased with her progress. For example, in physical therapy, Linda scored 56 out of 56 points on the Berg Balance
Test, which measures her ability in several different balancing activities.

Today Cassie, Phil and Linda volunteered at Sophie's school. We punched students' tickets to verify they had completed a quarter-mile lap around the playground for The Mileage Club.

Great day of therapy.  The therapists are pleased with my progress and may cut back my sessions to once a month beginning Monday.

My OT (Laura) has also been checking with St Luke's on the procedures I need to go through to be released to drive.  I may wait a bit to go through the testing steps until I feel confident that I want to be behind the wheel.  Luckily, I have a great chauffeur who takes me to all the craft stores in town.  Of course, I still try being the back-seat driver and he tells me to relax and "passenge."

We visited Melissa and Mike in Madison.  The trip was good therapy for me in getting out and doing other things. Watched the UNI vs. UW game with them on the big screen.  Melissa and I were dressed for the occasion.
