When Dad called the hospital this morning he found out Mom would be sent home today. So we rushed a bit and came here by about 9:30 and then we just waited and waited.
Eventually the physical therapist came and had Mom walk down the hall and up and down a flight of stairs. She then cleared Mom to go home and also wrote orders for Mom to continue outpatient therapy just like we had arranged when we left St Luke's.
Then we waited some more and eventually a surgical resident came in and said he would be writing the discharge orders and would go over those with us soon. It's about an hour later and very soon the nurse should be in to go over the discharge papers and then we will go home!!
It's about noon now so Mom will be eating lunch at home today. I'll try to update again tonight and let you know how that journey went.
